Assistance
The Garrett Thomas Foundation has been established to help children and their families living with cystic fibrosis in North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina.
Transportation
We understand the importance of timely medical appointments for anyone living with cystic fibrosis. Therefore, we provide gas cards for families so they can keep these essential appointments to and from the doctor and/or the hospital. These are made available in the medical clinics.
Medical
We work closely with the social workers in accredited clinics to determine the medical needs of their clients. This is determined on a case-by-case basis.
Family Time
We believe it is important for all families to have quality time together. Through application and clinic referrals, we plan trips, parties, and other fun time activities for families.
Housing Needs
We provide assistance for families who need help paying their utilities, groceries, rent, mortgage, or any other housing expenses. We consider each on a case-by-case basis.
Educational
We offer a $250.00 financial assistance award per semester.

After you apply:
-Each request is reviewed by our board of directors/officers.

Assistance Policy:
-Needs are met based on our budget and individual need.
-We assist each individual once per year. This does not include special outreaches such as Operation Secret Admirer and Back to School Bags.
Our heart certainly is to help every person who applies to us for assistance. However, there are times we find that we must meet a request in part, and sometimes we must deny a request
